the grownup shirley temple You guys! This is the last installment of my end-of-summer cocktail series. That must mean that *sniff sniff* summer is actually coming to a close. Before we say adios to summer, let's enjoy one last summery drink...

The Shirley Temple is such a classic. SO easy and always delicious... and let's be honest, it's a great excuse to eat numerous maraschino cherries without judgement. Needless to say while making + photographing this drink, I had waaaay too many cherries. In my defense it's made with zero calorie Zevia... so that means we can all have more cherries, right??

Ingredients (for one drink)

+ 3-4 oz Lemon Lime Twist Zevia + 1 oz vodka + 1/2 oz grenadine + maraschino cherries + ice

Directions

01 fill your favorite glass with ice (I opted for some vintage bar glasses to give it a more grown-up edge).

02 add vodka and grenadine, then top off with Zevia.

03 garnish with cherries. As many as you want. No judgement.

P.S. you could totally make this without the vodka for a lower calorie classic Shirley Temple.

WATERMELON MINT LIMEADE RECIPE

watermelon mint limeade Back to School supplies may have hit stores already, but around these parts it's still summer! It always makes me a little sad to see those school supplies return so early...  we still have 52 days until fall, everyone! Still plenty of good summer days ahead of us.

Nothing is more summer than making cocktails and relaxing outside. So for the next few weeks, I've teamed up with Zevia to bring you some of my very favorite summer cocktails. They're perfect for lounging on the patio, hanging by the pool, or chillin' at a picnic. Let's make summer proud and go out with a bang, shall we? YEAH!

Ingredients (for one drink)

+ 1 cup watermelon + 3-4 mint leaves + 1/2 cup limeade + 1 oz. vodka + Lemon Lime Twist Zevia + ice

Directions

01 mix 1 cup cubed watermelon and 3-4 chopped mint leaves in a blender until juiced.

02 fill your glass of choice with ice, add in 1/2 cup of the watermelon/mint juice, 1/2 cup of limeade, and one shot of vodka.

03 top off with Lemon Lime Twist Zevia to add the perfect hint of carbonation and balance. Give it a stir and add some mint and watermelon as a garnish (if you want).

With New Year's Eve coming up I thought it would be appropriate - nay necessary! - to peruse through this year's Art Drank posts in search of the perfect NYE cocktail. I've narrowed it down to my five favorite candidates... which one do you think is NYE-worthy? No. 1 Strawberry Prosecco Float

Ingredients

strawberry sorbet prosecco colorful straws (required... kidding/not kidding)

Directions

Scoop sorbet into glasses. Pour in prosecco. Two steps? Yessss. I love easy recipes.

No. 2 Rosemary Gin Fizz

Ingredients

3 one-inch sprigs of fresh rosemary 1 small lemon, juiced 1/2 teaspoon honey 1 1/2 ounces gin 3 ounces club soda

Directions

In a small drinking glass, muddle the fresh rosemary, lemon juice, and honey. Fill the glass with ice, then pour in the gin and top with club soda. Give it a little swirl with a spoon.

No. 3 Cider + Bourbon + Ginger Ale

Ingredients

2 parts apple cider, refrigerated 2 parts ginger ale, refrigerated 1 part bourbon apple slice to garnish

Directions

Mix apple cider and bourbon together and refrigerate for at least one hour. Before serving, add ginger ale to cider and bourbon. Serve over crushed ice and garnish with an apple slice (optional, of course, but so adorbs).

No. 4 Pomegranate Gin and Tonic

Ingredients

2 ounces gin (I used Bombay Sapphire Gin... and 1 ounce is equal to 1 shot glass - did everyone already know this except me??) 4 ounces tonic water 2 ounces pomegranate juice (I used POM 100% pomegranate juice) lime for garnish

Directions

Pour gin, tonic water, and pomegranate juice into a cocktail shaker. Gently shake. Pour over ice. Time to enjoy.

No. 5 Spiced Pear Margarita

Ingredients

makes 1 cocktail

1.5 oz silver tequila .75 oz Poire William eau-de-vie (pear brandy) 1 oz fresh-squeezed lime juice .75 oz spiced simple syrup (see below)

Directions

Combine all ingredients in a shaker. Fill the shaker with ice. Shake and strain into a cocktail glass (rimmed with spiced sugar (see below) if you wanna).

Oh this is gonna be a tough choice... vote for your fave in the comments or tweet at me! I'm leaning towards that cider/bourbon/ginger ale... you just can't beat that combo.
