BUY WHAT YOU LOVE

house-&-home A friend of mine told me that when it comes to decorating, simply buy what you love. Everything will find a way of fitting together because it's your aesthetic...

I'm not sure what HGTV would say about this approach, but I'm willing to give it a try. Because a) it requires absolutely no planning - decorating can be so overwhelming! - and b) all I have to do is find items I absolutely lurrve. That sounds like fun.

With this decorating method of madness in mind, I pulled the last few pins from my House & Home board to see if they went together.

Okay, okay. I can see how this might work. There are definitely some common threads: pinks + corals, turquoise, silver-y neutrals...

Do you have a home decor pinterest board? Do the items surprisingly fit together??

IN LOVE: NEW HOME WISH LIST

moving wishlist As we continue house hunting, I'm starting to get more and more excited about decorating a new place. Moving is always a good opportunity to get rid of the old and make room for the new. For instance, the standing lamp and set of dishes I got in college. Nothing wrong with hand-me-down fruit patterned dinnerware... but it might be time for an upgrade, yes?

I've been gathering inspiration for our new place like cray over on pinterest. How rad is that key tag?? Hey, anything that makes me excited to move is a good thing...

Happy Monday, everyone!

IN LOVE: HIS AND HERS

his and hers #poachit Decorating for two can be tricky. I've lived with Kevin for a couple years now and I feel like we're still trying to find the right balance between his love for nature and Clint Eastwood posters and my love for pink and anything with text. Remember this photo? Yeah, the Me & You prints aren't going anywhere!

I recently started redecorating with our styles in mind. Here's what I'm thinking so far: some nature prints (which he loves), gray with pops of color (which I love), and a bar cart (which we both love). What do you think? Little bit of his, little bit of hers? Okay, maybe it's more "hers" but I think we're getting closer...

Have you been faced with the decorating together dilemma? How did you handle it?

P.S. track all these goodies using PoachIt for working coupons and price drop alerts. Yesss! Redecorating can get pricey real fast...
