polka-dots Who loves polka dots? Raise your hand... I knew it! Me, too. Everything looks better with polka dots. Case in point? This here moodboard.

I love the combination of such a playful pattern with materials like jean, hemp, and leather. The polka dot has grown up, my friends. That satchel is so cute I can't stand it. I'm hoping for an email today from PoachIt telling me that gem is on sale... fingers are crossed. Send me good shopping vibes, everyone.

Speaking of, so many of you were interested in PoachIt I got you an exclusive invitation! No waiting in line for my artsocial crew. Follow this link to join the PoachIt party, yo.

As I enter week 2 of collaboration month, I've started thinking about different collab opportunities outside of the traditional avenues (i.e. working directly with other bloggers and brands)... I'm thinking of it as conceptual collaboration (ha!) as I'm not working with the brand directly, but I am participating in a project. For me, the heart of collaboration is a willingness to branch out and try new things... so let's branch.

In an attempt to think outside the collaboration box, I thought it could be fun to participate in Kate Spade's Art of the Dot campaign. Here's the gist: spot a dot, take a photo, and upload it for the whole world to see on Kate Spade's facebook page or on instagram, using #artofthedot. I'm already pretty obsessed with the 'gram, so an excuse to take more photos?? Don't have to ask me twice.

Follow all the action live on the 'gram: @Erin_artsocial. Wanna join me?

A Birthday Crafternoon

With my bestie's birthday quickly approaching, I knew I had to do something special. Do I go to the mall? Blech, no way. Her gift needed to be good, unique, creative. So much pressure! Well it was Fellow Fellow to the rescue. I found three perfect craft ideas on this magical site. Two of which I had pinned on Pinterest on separate occasions and didn't even realize it! I think that means I'm a true Fellow Fellow fan... Craft Numero Uno: Coasters

Supplies: Cork coasters Paint pen - silver works amazingly, I don't recommend gold - it doesn't show up too well on the cork color... is that obvious? Welp I learned the hard way.

Craft Numero Dos: Polka Dot Envelopes

Supplies: Downloadable template found here Construction paper or any thick paper Paint pen Scissors Glue Handwritten note (yes, this is required)

I also added some confetti to the envelope by hole punching a sheet of construction paper. Now it's a party.

Craft Numero Tres: The Gift Tag

Now for the final touch. Pink tissue, a bow, and a supah cute gift tag (download the free template over on Fellow Fellow).

And then it was off to L.A. with this little diy... The blogging community is srsly the best for creative gift ideas. Next time you're looking for the perfect gift, resist the mall temptation. I live in the suburbs, I know how tempting it can be... but just say no to mediocre. Get creative, y'all.

P.S. wowza, use those paint pens in a ventilated area. You know, unless you're into that sorta thing. No judgment... ok a little judgment.

P.S.S. thank you to Fellow Fellow for the inspiration... yours def turned out cuter than mine.
