I love pears. I'm just gonna throw that out there... throw it right on back if you want. No pressure. I also love art (can you tell?). So naturally I would love an art print of the very fruit that I adore: da pear. This print is so simple in its peary perfection. Hat tip to you, Amy Dalton. So let's get to why we're really here. The Spiced Pear Margarita. Spoiler alert: this cocktail is not a summer cocktail. In fact, this recipe was called "The Very Merry Cocktail Recipe" over on The Kitchn and was published in December. Hmm welp, too late now. It's too delicious not to share with you. This will just have to be my ode to Christmas in July. I know, I don't want to acknowledge that bizarre "holiday" either... but you just don't say no to a Spiced Pear Margarita, I don't care what time of year it is.
Spiced Pear Margarita
makes 1 cocktail
1.5 oz silver tequila .75 oz Poire William eau-de-vie (pear brandy) 1 oz fresh-squeezed lime juice .75 oz spiced simple syrup (see below)
Combine all ingredients in a shaker. Fill the shaker with ice. Shake and strain into a cocktail glass (rimmed with spiced sugar (see below) if you wanna).
For the spiced simple syrup and spiced sugar, go to The Kitchn (the website not your own kitchen, silly).
